LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–October 4, 2017–

Agilesphere has today (4 October 2017) made a call to action for industry to work together to rethink how organisations are structured, ensuring they are ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities society will face. Outlining initial ideas on how organisations can become more strategic, efficient and customer focused, Founder Jeremy Renwick highlighted Agilesphere’s new conceptual framework: Minimal Viable Organisation. This vision is designed to embed feedback, empowerment, recursion and value within organisations and is inspired by Stafford Beer’s Viable Systems Model. Speaking at the Agile Business Conference, a major forum for those interested in Agile ways of working, Renwick and the Agilesphere team immediately convened a roundtable working group to consider how to further develop the Minimal Viable Organisation vision. Now Agilesphere, a partnership of talented experts dedicated to finding innovative solutions to the challenges we face as a society, is calling for more people from industry and Government, along with academics and thinkers from around the world to get involved in developing the Minimal Viable Organisation concept.

Jeremy Renwick, Founder of Agilesphere, said: “Today we’re launching our initial thinking on how organisations of the future could work. In these rapidly changing times, we believe that our Minimal Viable Organisation vision will help organisations adapt and respond to new challenges and opportunities. Building on the work of Stafford Beer, the founders of the Agile Manifesto and many others, this is the start of a new journey to rethink how to organise organisation. We want to involve as many international thinkers and practitioners with an interest in this area as possible, as we further develop the Minimal Viable Organisation vision.”

The Agile Business Conference is a major, two-day annual event which provides a single forum for everyone interested in the application of Agile, or moving towards an Agile way of working. The unique gathering of influential Agile practitioners and leaders also brings together senior professionals predominantly from the UK and Europe, including C-suite executives, directors and managers.

During the roundtable working group held at the conference Agilesphere’s Jeremy Renwick and Hugh Ivory shared their perspectives on how a Minimum Viable Organisation could be constituted based on their real-world experiences of business transformation in the public and private sectors. The discussion explored what new structures constitute the Minimum Viable Organisation and how leaders can harness these to enable and empower people.

Agilesphere is a 100-strong community of talented experts who use agile consultancy and technology to transform services, organisations and society for the better. The organisation has supported a wide range of Governmental and private sector organisations in delivering transformational change at scale.
