Indiana will announce the dismissal of football coach later this evening, according to a report from the Indianapolis Star. Wilson is in his sixth season with the Hoosiers and has posted a 26-47 record.
The timing seems bizarre considering the success Indiana has had the last two years. Wilson won six games and earned a trip to Pinstripe Bowl in 2015 and his team is currently bowl eligible. The program hadn’t gone to back-to-back bowls since 1990-1991.
The dismissal, however, is reportedly not about on-field performance.
